L33 - Serpentine Ridge

When the sun is setting on the eastern shore of Mare Serenitatis, the shadows cast by the Serpentine Ridge make it stand out, revealing what appears to be a snake headed north.

This image was taken on 22-Sep-2005 through a 203mm Celestron C-8 Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector afocally coupled to an Olympus C-700 digital camera through a 40mm eyepiece. 


Another good time to view the Serpentine Ridge is when the sun is rising on Mare Serenitatis. Unfortunately, this image is out of focus, I'll need to replace it when I get a better one.
