L1 - The Moon

This photo was taken within an hour of the true full moon. In addition, this particular full moon happened when the moon was very close to perigee, the point in it's orbit when it is closest to Earth. Thus, the size of the moon's disk appears about 5% larger in diameter than on average.

This image was taken on 02-Jun-2004 through a 90mm refractor afocally coupled to an Olympus C-700 digital camera through a 40mm eyepiece.
